Author(s) : ONU Environnement (ex-PNUE)

Type of monograph: Book

Summary

This compilation is made up of 21 case studies documenting actual elimination of CFC-11 and 1,1,1-trichloroethane from industrial solvent applications in companies from nine countries: Canada, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand and the United States. The case studies were selected for their applicability to the current situation regarding the use of ozone-depleting substances in developing countries. These studies reflect a wide variety of company types and sizes, and they include many different industries and even governments. They demonstrate how both internal and external financial and technical resources can be used effectively to convert to non-ozone-depleting solvents. Studies from developing as well as from developed coutries are included.
