Résumé

A 20-minute video (in English) that highlights the necessary safety practices in the use of hydrocarbons as refrigerants and insulation foam blowing agents. The main objective of the video is to help developing countries, through local refrigeration manufacturers, to understand and use hydrocarbon as an alternative to CFC, HCFC, and HFC in domestic and small commercial refrigeration, especially the safety aspects associated with its use. The video is envisioned for use in training programmes in refrigeration, workshops, and seminars on ozone depletion. The video booklet (in French and in English) is the complement to the video. It details the various steps that need to be taken in order to ensure the safe use of hydrocarbons in small commercial and domestic refrigerators, and provides this information with examples done in other countries. The booklet presents in more detail the information shown in the video, to assist developing countries in using these alternatives safely.
